Hello, I’m Stephanie Niemeyer. Alaska’s Wilderness wedding planner.
Why the name?
Most days I work as a special education teacher in Eagle River, AK. I have a bachelors in business and a masters in special education. My husband, a fighter pilot, and I have been married for nine years. We have our own small airplane and love adventuring around the state with our six year old son. A few years ago, my grandmother passed her dream log home on Rustic Wilderness Airstrip just north of Willow to us. We turned it into a vacation rental and I started getting requests from couples to get married there. I began to help these couple with their weddings and completely fell in love with the process. Out of this, Rustic Wilderness Weddings was born. Now you’re here and I hope that I get to meet you and help turn your love story into an unforgettable Alaskan celebration.

What I enjoy
Trends are not for me. I enjoy using natural colors and materials. I prefer to be outside whenever possible. Good food and friends are a staple in my life and something I put a lot of value on. I rarely meet a stranger that I don’t find something to talk about. If you want to go anywhere in an airplane, I’ll jump in! I grew up flying all over Alaska with my grandparents and they taught me to appreciate the world from above. I think you find the most beauty in the Wilderness. You’ll always find me wearing functional footwear. I’m head over heels in love with my husband and I take every chance I get to celebrate real love stories.
